Hey there folks!! i am back after a long break.  I know I promised to write more, but every time I thought I should write, an evil little voice inside my head said, "but no one reads your blog. who are you writing for?" and i agreed. (pity and sympathy comments are welcomed, just comment ok? =p ) Even with this low self esteem i did not stop baking. No sir! Made quite a lot of cakes since then actually. I made a Smurf Cake and the blue frosting came out perfect. made some customized cuppies for a dentistry student, had so much fun making the teeth. I also started working on fondant. I couldn't  get the hang of it in the beginning but i believe i have mastered the MMF now 8) ok fine i haven't! but i'm getting there. really, i am.
So guess i now have a load of pictures to upload. yaay! OOH i got an order for a Sesame Street ooohh and it was three tiered, boy that took all of my energy.
Moving on, i really want to work on my blog. Might even start a makeup blog, its my new thing ;) but the problem is i dont know how to customize the blog and stuff. Could anyone please help me out ? and Yes this is the only reason i wrote this blog. You got a problem with that ? No? Good!
So will you help me ? *peeks out and makes a puppy dog face*

Its been a looong loong time !! I have been busy with a lot of stuff !! University, Exams, Dramatics society ( which i started myself  btw and organized the whole thing on my own *smiles smugly* ok fine you got me ! with some help !) and then we had Ramzan and then wait !! why am i explaining myself ?! *sigh* Anyhoooo....  Thought i should probably get back to the blog now and so i am back with a BANG !! where is the bang you ask ?! well i do have some big big news !! i have started a home based bakery . . its on a very small scale but hey a business is a business right ?! here is the link to my page . . https://www.facebook.com/bakinghodgepodge
The blog was left behind with all the stuff happening in my life . . . . So leaving with the promise to myself that i will keep my blog updated from now on, Hasta la vista babies !!

Or should I call them The Devil Bars !!! it took me three attempts to make the darn thing.
On the first attempt, I added the beaten egg to the hot mixture of butterscotch when the book clearly stated "let cool slightly" but no! i knew better didn't I. So there i was adding the egg. Wait a min !! whats that ??!!! the egg fried !! yes the egg turned into some sort of scrambled omelette type thingy !!
The bin welcomed the horrible mixture with open arms.
What happened in the 2nd attempt you ask ? Well little miss dopey me ignored the instructions once more and the butterscotch mixture turned ROCK SOLID !! Literally !! And there I was screaming "NO NO I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO LET IT HARDEN" when my dear father comes and asks innocently "How are u going to cut THIS into bars?"
Frustrated yet still determined I decided not to waste more ingredients and just melt the mixture and try once more And there you have it folks !! I did it !! YAY ME !!
I felt so proud ! I finally beat the nasty butterscotch bars ! HA!
My family didn't really like them no matter what they say, I know !! They were just a little sweet !! The bars I mean =p
So I learned 2 thing i guess !!
1. Use lesser brown sugar than mentioned in the book. And
2. Butterscotch is EVIL !!

Hey everyone!! My name is Ana and I am from Pakistan. I am really excited since this is my very first blog and I would feel quite stupid if nobody read it so YOU there ! yes you READ THIS BLOG !! and you better like it !!!
I spent my vacations stuffing my face, travelling in dreamland (wonderful place that is) and getting FAT.  *sigh* good times !! So I thought i should stop being such a lazy bum and DO something for once !! and here I am writing this blog.
I actually got inspired by the movie Julie and Julia. I think the idea is so creative and original so I am kind of going to steal the idea *evil laugh*
My sister got me this book from Lahore, " The Best Bake Sale Ever Cookbook" by Barbara Grunes. I am totally in LOVE with the book, I will try out recipes from the book and share how they turned out =D
These are a few desserts that I have tried out. Oh and these are not from the same book !

Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake. My family loved it and finished it off in about an hour. The heat got to this poor slice =( 

Devil's Chocolate Food Cake. My personal favorite. 

Made this from a Betty Crocker mix. My sister piped the icing.

This one was made from a Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix .  This was also the first time I made and used fondant  =D
